WHAT DOES THE WORKSHOP INCLUDE?
Introduction to Lighting in Photography
Discussion on cameras, lenses, exposure and different sources of light used in photography. We also discuss why and how different lights and accessories are used, the logic behind their settings and usage, and the different types of lighting setups

Aperture & Exposure
How focal lengths, ISO, f-stops and shutterspeed influence the lighting in an image

Studio Lights
Setting up studio lights, single vs multiple light set ups, power control, placement and angles for right exposure in images

Accessories and its Uses
Different types of softboxes, Use of diffusers & reflectors, snoots, gels and other types of accessories used for lights to acquire desired results

Natural Light
Working with available light and controlling natural light to give the desired output

Creative Lighting Techniques
Working with different lighting styles such as broad light, short light, split lighting, backlit, rim lighting, rembrandt style of lighting, butterfly lighting, etc.
Understanding High key and Low key images

A demonstration of the editing process with a few images shot during the live session.

I am a complete beginner to photography. Is this workshop recommended for me?
Lighting is a crucial technique that is involved in photography. However, it is important that you know the basic concepts of photography such as camera formats, lenses, focus modes, aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc to make the best use of this workshop as we will be using these concepts through the workshop to learn the nuances of lighting. Therefore, if you’re not conversant with the basics of photography yet, I recommend you consider joining the 'basics in photography' workshop first.

Do I need to have prior knowledge about Lighting to attend this workshop?
No, you will learn everything from scratch about lighting - with natural, available light and studio lights in this workshop. This is a one on one mentoring workshop for you to learn everything about lighting at your pace and level of understanding.

What genre of photography does this workshop cater to?
The concept of lighting remain the same across genres, with a few variations for portraits, wildlife, landscapes, products, etc which will be covered in the workshop. However, the concepts will be demonstrated for portraits.
What should I get for the workshop?
Please bring your camera and lenses - preferably a 35mm or 50mm lens. Incase you don’t have either of these, you can bring along your kit lens. A fully charged battery, a memory card with sufficient space for a day’s photography,
